A well established property with the largest conference facilities in Greece. More of a classic interior than other newer similar type establishments, and those recently renovated who tend to opt for ultra modern designs.

Grounds are spacious with unique features such as the duck pond which will delight children, and even though the pools are long, they are narrow so may become crowded. Some external upgrading is required in areas.

Capsis Hotel, Ixia

Standing prominently on the Ixia coastline, the 9-storey building arches out in 2 directions. A solid grey concrete block, featureless apart from its shape with concrete fronted balconies, most with sea or side sea view.

To the rear a spacious car park and the unattractive dome like structure of the conference centre, attached to some shabby apartment blocks. The main entrance is reached by 30 concrete steps from the road or a wide ramp that cars drive up to.

Hotel entrance

Bright and airy reception and lobby in a pale lemon and beige with marble floors. It has sparse, classic furnishings with various pot plants, antique pieces and ancient Greek pictures on the walls.

The Oceanic Executive restaurant has the same colour scheme apart from the floor which is terracotta tiled, and tables and chairs are with white coverings reminiscent of wedding dining furniture.

The main restaurant on the ground-floor has a relaxed environment with brick and wood buffet stations and traditional taverna wood furniture.

The news bar also on this floor has the personality of a stately home drawing room with tartan wallpaper and bookshelves along the walls, but also bizarrely features a 50’s style jukebox.

Rooms: 691

Tropical gardens featuring an abundance of various types of flora and fauna, with lawned areas and mature trees adding shade.

The sea water pool formed over 2 levels, is like a river meandering through the grounds, one section also featuring a Jacuzzi and hydrotherapy jets, the lagoon restaurant and entertainment stage surrounds this pool.

Further back is the freshwater circular pool which is unattractively surrounded by brick rather than conventional tiles, with a further pool bar. There is a basic children’s playground in the grounds as well as a manmade pond with swans and ducks.

Area Type: Set into the mountainside, just back from the main coastal road and amongst other similar style properties. The main entrance is 150m along the Ixia to Faliraki inland road, opposite the narrow, shingle beach. Bus stop to Rhodes Town 4km is directly outside and a choice of tavernas and shops are a few minutes’ walk away with further choice in the centre of Ixia 500m away.

Nearest beach: 20 Metres (Ixia)
