This village has a more modern and relaxed feel to it than its sister hotel, the Royal Mare, where the majority of dining, activity and entertainment venues are located.
The whole complex of both hotels is extensive and may not be as grand or modern as other 5-star hotels in the area, but it is an All Inclusive property with a vast choice of bars, restaurants, activity and entertainment options, making it deserving of its official grading.
An ideal family friendly property with a choice of pools, sports facilities and an enviable location on the beach. With so much on offer and so much space to explore, guests would rarely feel the need to venture out of the hotels grounds.
The main grand entrance, which also the reception for the Royal Mare is constructed of smooth local stone, built in a medieval gothic style, a theme, which continues internally representing the history of the connection with the Knights of St John and Rhodes.
The 11 low-rise accommodation blocks spread throughout the grounds, all are modern in appearance painted white, blue and terracotta with standard size concrete fronted balconies some with feature archways.
Property type: Holiday Village
Balcony/Terrace: All rooms
Exterior: Low-rise Complex
The vast reception and lobby area are dramatic in design with some quite surreal touches. Murals of Rhodes harbour back the long detailed marble reception in ancient Greek times and long medieval lanterns.
A rather gaudy wide central pillar has again ancient Greek pictures and there are bright red lampshades reminiscent of Christmas decorations hanging from the ceilings! Furnishings are somewhat dated in various patterned upholstery.
The main bar has a strong medieval style with knight’s shields decorating the walls. Restaurants are functional and mainly uninspiring with the exception of the fine dining.
The hotel boasts its own nightclub with unusual decor imported from Cameroon giving an African tropical ambience!
Also a large games room and a gym.
Mature gardens greet you at the entrance where the broad car park is located. Throughout the property, lawns, flowerbeds and a variety of trees are well kept adding welcoming splashes of colour.
With 7 pools in total, all various shapes and sizes including an 81m waterslide. Of the pools, 3 are freshwater, 4 saltwater. An abundance of sun-loungers are available along with many seating areas and terraces for the numerous bars, restaurants and the entertainment stage, located in the Royal Mare grounds.
The sandy beach has a water sports centre and complimentary sun-loungers and parasols for guests as well as a beach bar and taverna.
Area Type: In the small centre of the resort, a few mins walk away from a choice of restaurants, some bars and small shops. Set back from the main road that runs from Rhodes Town to Faliraki, the property is located in the same grounds as its sister hotel the Royal Mare and is spread down the hillside and onto the sandy beach. There is a bus stop 100m away on the main road with regular services to Rhodes Town (5km), Kalithea springs (2km) and Faliraki (5km). Services also serve Lindos a further 35km to the south.
Nearest beach: Immediate (Kalithea)
