Well presented and more relaxed than many of the other more pretentious cliff side properties. Has individual character, coupled with a homely welcoming atmosphere and a touch of sophistication. Views are unforgettable, the cave restaurant is atmospheric and, uniquely for this area, the hotel has a lift.

Comprised of angular buildings over 12 levels built into the rock face. Built in a traditionally white washed style with pale blue wooden doors, shutters and windows, barrel-shaped roofs and archways.

All rooms have reasonably sized balconies or terraces, most with criss-cross wooden frontages.

Interior

Simple reception with a pine desk and ornate chandelier leads to a seating area with chunky wicker furnishings which in turn leads directly onto the pool.

Breakfast room is pleasantly authentic with blue and beige wooden dining sets, complemented by hand-painted dressers in pastel shades with panoramic windows. Intimate a la carte is built in a cave, with medieval style furniture and accessories.

Grounds

Steep steps feature in all areas but the property has a lift to most floors. Greenery is limited to flowering pot plants and a few small palms. A variety of terraces with white wooden sofas offer unobstructed sea views due to the clear glass walls.

Pool has walk-in entry with white wooden sunbeds to the front shaded by reef parasols. Further sunbathing terraces are located on the floor below with 2 hot tubs. Appealing pool bar offers some shade and has wooden furnishings.

Area Type: Tumbling down the cliff side, surrounded by similarly styled properties and overlooking the caldera. In a central location 150 metres from the main square where there is municipal car parking and the bus stop for Fira. A selection of eateries, bars, and small tourist shops are all within a 5 minute walk.
