Hotel Cambridge, Lido Di jesolo Italy
★ ★ ★ ★
A pleasant and relaxed base although rather compact and lacking in amenities for a four star option. Set back from the main road, this beach side building is a in a relatively calm location and most rooms enjoy uninterrupted sea views. It attracts many mature couples although there are rather steep steps up to the main entrance. Its sister property is Principe Palace.
A long and narrow rectangular building, situated at a right angle to the beach with an inviting side entrance approached up a straight flight of railed steps. The bland and unexceptional structure has small metal-railed projecting balconies on all rooms.
Property type: Hotel
Balcony/Terrace: All rooms
Built Year: 1966
The flat and open plan communal areas are cheerful and inviting, with colourful decor and comfortable seating throughout. The wide and welcoming reception is efficient looking and has an attractive and stylishly furnished restaurant to one side. A bar overlooks the sea and has a pleasant and airy breakfast room to one side.
The compact garden is protected from the beach side promenade by a tall hedge. A tiny corner playground is rather cluttered but easily supervised from the bar. There is a good supply of sunloungers around the sizeable rectangular pool with more available under parasols on the private beach area.
Area Type: In the heart of the resort on the edge of the beach in a line of similar style properties, approached along a rather gloomy path past metal awnings, 60 yds away from the street. The busy shopping centre with its restaurants and snack bars is 100 yds away and a bus stop 180 yds.
