Nassim Hotel, Marakesh Morocco

A simple, low key city centre base with easy access to public transport and the amenities of the new town. Attracts guests who prefer not to stay in a traditional property in the Medina area, but who still want to be near the action.
There is little local character in the communal areas and the pool and sunbathing areas are rather compact for the number of guests. Facilities and compact communal areas do little to warrant the category rating.
An unexceptional modern, pink coloured, flat fronted building with steps to a wide off street entrance that blends in well with the surrounding shops and office blocks. Some rooms have a small balcony although there is little in the way of views.
Property type: Hotel
Balcony/Terrace: Most rooms
Interior decor is rather dark and mundane, with a tiny reception area just inside the entrance. A supposedly English style pub-type bar is located on the 1st floor and has a terrace leading out to the pool. An equally dark 2nd floor restaurant is pleasantly arranged, although lacking in character or style.
Compact upper terrace has a supply of tables for alfresco snacks and a tiny plunge pool with a very limited supply of sunbathing furniture.
Area Type: In the heart of the busy commercial district, surrounded by numerous shops, run of the mill eateries and car hire offices. Bus to the airport stops 100m away and taxis pass along the street every few seconds. Railway station is 300m to the west and the start of the Medina is 600m to the south.
