Enotel Quinta do Sol, Funchal Portugal

A relatively central choice that tends to lack the charm and sophistication anticipated of a quintal. There is a more authentic and traditional option immediately opposite. The communal areas are spacious but a little mundane in appearance whilst the pool and grounds are of a generous size for the number of guests accommodated.
A dull looking fairly modern green coloured seven-storey building with a three-storey annexe in the grounds. 50% of the rooms come with a balcony. The wide and welcoming entrance provides a favourable first impression.
Property type: Hotel
Built Year: 1975
The interior style and sophistication is as expected of the property’s name. A long reception area is cool and formal and is accompanied by a cosy and congenial lounge. The restaurant is light and airy but unexceptional in its decor and furnishings.
The pleasantly arranged sub tropical gardens feature an abundance of attractive plants and shrubs. There is ample supply of sunloungers beside the sizeable pool and a snack bar has an arrangement of garden furniture. A rooftop terrace ha views over the gardens and road towards the sea.
Area Type: Overlooking a busy road junction to the W of the city centre with a number of other large properties across the road towards the rocky cliffs and Atlantic Ocean. There is an assortment of snack outlets, restaurants and small shops from 250m away and a bus stop 200m away, across the busy road. A sports and leisure park is located 100m away.
